Plan a Safe Vacation

Planning a vacation can be overwhelming. There are a lot of important things people forget to do. First, make a list of everything you need to do, purchase, who to call, etc. But, start making this list a couple months before you leave for your vacation.

First of all, start saving months and months before you plan on buying your tickets, and make sure you buy your tickets a month or two in advance at least! This will save you a lot of money, trust me. Do not dip into savings, and make sure your vacation money is just a lot of extra money you have saved up. Write down a list of everything you will need on your trip i.e if you are going to a beach you might need water shoes, sunblock, snorkel gear, beach towels, sandals, bathing suit cover up, water proof Ipod case, water proof camera, etc.

If you are leaving your kids at home, make sure they have all of your information and emergency contact numbers. Make sure they know the alarm code, and a family member's number that is near by. Talk to them, and make sure they know exactly what to do in case of a emergency.

After you are done with your list and you have moved onto your packing stage, do not forget the small stuff. First of all do not forget your ID, maybe your passport, and money. Also, airports will not allow more than 3 oz of fluid onto to the plane ie shampoo conditioner, cologne. And 3 oz of fluid going on the plane must be in a small zip lock bag. Don't forget to leave little key chain pocket knives at home, the airport will take them away from you. Remember after the first bag checked it does cost money. One more thing I have heard is if you are going to a foreign country bring a money belt. Keep cash on you for tips and quick snacks and drinks, gratuities, etc.

It wouldn't be a bad idea if you let your family know where your will is, God forbid anything should happen, but it is better safe than sorry. Most importantly do not forget your plane tickets!
